This is arguably the finest 25 foot Bayfield on planet earth. Bayfields are world renown for their solid and stable full keel boats that track straight that are designed with the unique traditional style and blended bowsprit remnant of sailing vessels of old.

Accommodations: Morning Star was built in April of 1982 by Bayfield Boat Yard Limited in Clinton, Ontario, Canada. Her home port was in Portland Oregon, where she sailed the Pacific Coast for several years. In 1987 she was sold to a new owner in Port Angeles, Washington, which has been her home port while sailing the Puget Sound waters including the San Juan Islands. The owner had failing health and I purchased her and moved her to Sequim, Washington in November of 2012. When I bought her I knew she would need some loving care but she was such a classic little gem that I became inspired to make her new again. I began a thorough inspection and began to realize that too many of her systems were old and outdated and required a commitment to strip the entire boat down to bare hull and replace with a new engine, plumbing, rigging, electrical systems and sail gear. The diesel fuel tank deep within the full keel had gradually leaked over the years and this was removed to allow for the construction of fiberglassed box deep within the bottom of the keel space for the addition of 200 pounds of lead shot for even more stability in open water. Included are before and after pictures to demonstrate the extent of the detailed work and use of top rate replacement equipment installed. These included such new items such as a new Beta 14 diesel engine with new cables and controls, new rigging, custom sails, roller furling, propane stove and Dickinson heater, new fuel and holding tanks, all new wiring and electrical control box. The interior has been upgraded with a a warm, comfortable wild cherry interior with LED lighting fixtures throughout including separate circuits for recessed deep blue accent lights and warm white lights in the main cabin. Blue led lights also are recessed in the cockpit area. The boat includes a new Achilles dingy with a custom made stainless steel stern carrier along with a uniquely designed waterproof cockpit engine hatch for a large and easy access to the engine, transmission and drip-less thru-hull. Safety gear includes all equipment required by the USCG including fire extinguishers, inflatable life vest, flares, flare guns, horns, etc. The sails set up is very simple and smooth with all lines leading aft so that single handling is effortless and can all be done from the cockpit including reefing the mainsail. My own health concerns force me to the painful decision to sell her but I know the new owner will be one that can appreciate what a true little gem she is and all her potential years of trouble free sailing in her future. Only serious inquirers with available funds will be considered.
